Yarmouth took third overall at the NSDA District Tournament at the Maine State House today. Kate Siegel earned second in the Senate, which makes her a National Qualifier and the second best debater in the entire Maine district for the 2019/2020 season. This officially earns her an invitation to the National Tournament, her second in as many years. The tournament will be held in Albuquerque in mid June.
Meanwhile, Mary Psyhogeos and Maddy Corson both earned spots as alternates in the House, so they may wind up getting invitations of their own before too long. While Georgia Herr and Joshua Leinwand did not earn specific spots as alternates, both broke to the final round of debate, beating out more than a dozen of the toughest debaters in the state for their coveted spots. #yhslearns
