December

Dear YHS families,

As we return from the Thanksgiving Break, it is worth noting that we have successfully completed nearly a third of the school year in hybrid learning.  Since last March, our staff has compiled an extensive set of resources “All Things COVID Related” for students and their families.  We recently updated these resources into one site - link here.  Please take a few minutes to review this website, which we hope will continue to help your family navigate through the changes at Yarmouth High School.

Second Quarter Progress Reports

We have nearly reached the midpoint of the second quarter, and progress reports will be available on PowerSchool next Wednesday, December 9th.  Grades will be updated, and teachers will provide you with an update of your child’s progress at this point in the school year.   Please feel free to reach out to your student’s teachers with any additional questions or concerns.

Picture Retakes

Geskus will provide an additional opportunity in Yarmouth for students to have their pictures retaken at the Rowe School on December 2nd from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Please see this link for more information (note that there will be no K-2 students at the Rowe School as this is a Wednesday remote day of learning for all students in the district).

Winter Sports Information Night

Athletic Director David Creech will be hosting a virtual meeting for any students interested in participating in winter sports, as well as their parents, on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd, @ 6:00 p.m. This will be a Zoom meeting; meeting information can be found on our Athletics Website.

The Yarmouth Education Foundation Clipper Honors program

Are you searching for a holiday gift for a Yarmouth educator? Yarmouth Education Foundation Clipper Honors is back! This December, YEF is partnering with Clayton’s Cafe. Donate $25 or more to YEF in honor of an educator, and your honoree will receive a certificate of appreciation, a note from your family, and a gift card to Clayton’s!  It’s simple. Place your order online (yarmoutheducationfoundation.org) by 12/14/20, and YEF volunteers will take care of the rest. Educators will receive their gift from your family before winter break.  It is a thoughtful way to honor our amazing teachers, administrators, support staff, bus drivers, and more.

Respectfully,

Eric Klein, Amy Bongard, and David Creech - YHS Administrative team.
