Hello YHS Community,
We are approaching the end of our first quarter and things are certainly moving fast at YHS! From field trips to pumpkin carving to a successful fall sports season, great things are happening in Clippertown. There is a lot of information contained in this newsletter about upcoming events and opportunities; if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Learning Area Conferences will be held on November 6th and 8th. Individual appointments are not made ahead of time; these conferences take place in the cafeteria or gym where teachers provide quick updates (approximately 5 minutes) of your child’s progress. Our student ambassadors will be on site to help. Please note:
- If your child’s last name begins with A-K, conferences will be held from 3:30-6:30 pm on Monday, November 6th.
- If your child’s last name begins with L-Z, conferences will be held from 3:30-6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 8th.
Furthermore, our part-time teacher David Pearl will be available on Monday and Julia Balsamo will be available on Wednesday only. If you are in need of a different time for the conference, please contact your child’s teacher.
Athletic updates
We have had an exciting fall, and we hope to see many of you in your Navy and White cheering on the Clippers from the sidelines!!! The winter athletic season is also quickly approaching and we are finalizing schedules now, please be sure to complete your winter athletic registrations now, so you will be up to date with all necessary information!

- Winter Sports Info Night - Tuesday, November 14th @ 6:00 pm
- This informational evening is for students and parents that are interested in playing a winter sport at YHS. Room locations will be posted at both school entrances. Our winter sports include: boys basketball, girls basketball, girls ice hockey, boys ice hockey, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, and coed swimming Please be sure to register for winter sports at https://yarmouthhs-ar.rschoolt... *Please note that girls ice hockey information night will be October 30 in the YHS cafe @ 6:30.
Senior parents
The Project Graduation committee is underway in planning an evening that is fun and safe for the Class of 2024 on their graduation night (June 9th). The committee will be sending an email to parents in the very near future. If you do not want your name and email shared, please call the main office.
