Two of our Boys' Basketball teams are hosting Gray-New Gloucester today. Our 8th-grade team (pictured) just wrapped up a high-energy, end-to-end game; the 7th-grade team is up next.
Yesterday, our 7th graders learned from two scientists on Maine Bioscience Day, a day where careers in the biosciences are highlighted. Thank you to our visitors from BBI Solutions who shared their fascinating work in the biosciences here in Maine.

Developmental Basketball Coaches needed. At the 7th and 8th grade levels, we are experiencing a high participation number for both the boys and girls teams. We are in need of an enthusiastic individual who can teach the basics of basketball to these student-athletes. Time commitment is 3-4 times per week, now through the end of January. Our 6th graders are using robots to solve challenges in STEAM class!
Our 6th-grade Starry Night event was a huge success! Thank you to Mr. Callahan, all of our 6th-grade teachers, and YEF for making this learning opportunity a reality for our students!
Due to predicted incoming cloud cover, we are rescheduling the 6th grade Starry Night event to tomorrow, Thursday, November 7th. We will use the same schedule and hope to see everyone at 4:45 PM.

Our Improv Club is full of laughter and fun! Pictured are students engaging in an improv game where the action is "frozen" at times which allows for some zany non-sequiturs. Many thanks to Ms. Utz who advises the group on Wednesday afternoons!
Our Field Hockey team wrapped up our home slate of fall athletic contests today with a spirited game against Freeport!
HMS students picked several remaining vegetables from the school garden during this beautiful weather!

Members of our Student Leadership Team traveled to New Hampshire to attend the New England League of Middle Schools' leadership conference.
A number of our students are excited about the new Guinness Book of World Records that is now in our library!
Our 7th graders are visiting Madeleine Point this week to engage in citizen science! They are measuring seaweed growth as part of a long-term research project led by the University of Maine. Thank you to our 7th-grade teachers for their work to make this field trip possible!
