It was wonderful to see our first grade families this morning at our school visit. We are looking forward to welcoming first graders back on Tuesday, September 3rd and kindergarten children for their appointment days on September 3rd and 4th. Happy weekend! #rowelearns

Our May Community Meeting focused on ACES- All Children Exercise Simultaneously. It was hosted by our fabulous gym teacher Mr Lipman along with Mrs. Flanagan and Mrs. Saxe, our learning center teachers. We saw some examples of how children around the world celebrate ACES. #rowelearns #aces #communitybuilding

Kindergarten children explored questions about light and energy in their recent science lab with consultant, Debbie Landry: Thanks to @yef_maine for funding this project. #rowelearns #sciencelabs #yefmaine

Rowe School first grader Isla Carter's artwork was chosen to be displayed at the Portland Museum of Art for Youth Art Month, a national celebration sponsored by Council for Art Education. Her work was chosen by Rowe art teacher Emily Landry and is entitled Magic Peacock, collage with ripped paper oil pastel pattern and watercolor wash. Congratulations to Isla!

Our Rowe School voting results were 168 for the Ten Spin (similar to a merry-go-round) and 40 for funnel ball. A special thanks goes out to Ms. Berry, one of our first grade teachers, who came up with the idea of having the children vote! Our wonderful PTO group has made this addition to our playground possible. #rowelearns

School Bonds Approved: Thank you voters, for approving expansion of all four Yarmouth Schools. The real work begins now!

First and 7th graders replenished the tulip bulbs in the rainbow garden in front of Rowe School this week. The garden was originally planted when the current 7th graders were first graders! This was truly an amazing event for all involved. A special thanks goes out to parent volunteer Amy Sinclair who headed up this project 6 years ago and again yesterday for our students.

Power outages continue throughout town, including all four schools, and power lines are down on West Elm Street. Therefore, school is cancelled in Yarmouth for Tuesday, October 16.

Due to power outages throughout Yarmouth, there will be a two hour delay to the start of school today, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16. If power is not restored, we will have to cancel school for the day. That decision will be made by 7:30 a.m. This message will be updated at that time.

First graders record observations during carrot harvesting. These same students planted the carrots last spring as kindergarteners. The haul was bountiful- 34 lbs! #rowelearns #firstgradescientists

Our March Community meeting was focused on mindfulness practices the children learned about with Erica Marcus, visiting mindfulness educator. #rowelearns #wisemindsbighearts
