OPEN GYM - Starting Sunday, November 20 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM OPEN GYM - Starting this Sunday, November 20 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Open Gym will be held most Sundays through March 26, 2017 from 12 - 2 at the YHS Gym. Open Gym is open to all Yarmouth Students Grade 5 - 12. You do not have to be a current basketball player. An updated schedule will be available in the coming weeks. Open Gym is FREE, but Yarmouth Community Services asks that all participants register either in person at the YCS office at 200 Main Street (behind Town Hall) - Hours M-F 8:30 - 4:30 or by using this link - https://apm.activecommunities.com/yarmouthcommunitysvcs/Activity_Search/5087 You just need to register once for the whole time - whether or not you plan to go a few times or every time. A parent will be on site every Sunday to oversee the activities. If you would like to help out with this please let us know. A contact email will be provided with the updated schedule of OPEN GYM. Earn community service hours - shoveling for local seniors YCAN (Yarmouth Cares About Neighbors) is looking for student volunteers interested in shoveling for local seniors after a snow fall or a snow storm this winter. It's a great way to earn service hours and help out the community. Please email me back if you're interested in shoveling throughout the winter, and I will add you to the volunteer list! The Global Action Club is holding a clothing drive The Global Action Club will be holding a clothing drive from now until December 15. A donation bin will be located in the main office. Please consider donating clothing in good condition. Summer-weight clothing (t-shirts, shorts, pants, sandals) will be donated to an organization helping those affected by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. Winter clothing (hats, boots, coats, sweaters, pants) will be donated to Catholic Charities, which currently is resettling Syrian refugee families in the greater Portland area. Portland Jazz Orchestra concert - 12/4 Portland Jazz Orchestra is performing at YPAC on December 4 at 2 P.M. sponsored by the Yarmouth Music Boosters. This is a free holiday concert with a suggested donation of $10. The Orchestra will be performing some music from the Nutcracker.
