Seniors - Sign up for Senior Variety Show Seniors.... The only commitment of time for the variety show will be April 3rd for the rehearsal and April 7th for the performance. Of course, you may have to practice on your own time! The March 24th rehearsal is no longer part of it. It will be a lovely show if all of you very talented seniors come out and perform. Community Service Opportunity Mrs. Allen at HMS is looking for a couple of students to take photos of Yarmouth's Got Talent on Friday, March 31st. She needs photos for the HMS yearbook, especially the HMS participants. If you are willing to help, please contact Holly Allen at HMS. You will earn community service hours.


Volunteer Opportunity The Maine Chapter of the American Heart Association needs volunteers for the HeartStrong 10K on April 2nd from 8am-12pm at the Ocean Gateway Terminal in Portland. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Meredith McNeil - 207-289-2384 or meredith.mcneil@heart.org.

Annual College Fair at the Sea Dogs - May 4th On Tuesday, May 4th, the Portland Sea Dogs will be hosting their annual college fair at Hadlock Field from 3-5pm, followed by a game against the Reading Fightin Phils at 6:00pm. All students must have a ticket to the game to attend. If you respond to this email by Friday, April 7th, you will receive two FREE tickets to the game and event. Guidance Office - visitors scheduled We have two upcoming visits this week and next for those of you interested in the Navy. A representative from the U.S. Naval Academy will be here this Thursday, March 23 at 9am. A representative from the U.S. Navy will be here next Tuesday, March 28 at 10am. Both visits will take place in the Guidance Office. Please get a pass from guidance and permission from your teacher if you would like to attend either visit. Thank you! ~Mrs. O'Brien


Mercy Hospital Junior Volunteer Program - community service opportunity Mercy Hospital is taking applications for their Junior Volunteer Program, which runs from July 10 - August 25 this summer. Applicants must be 14 years old by June and must be able to commit 4 hours of service each week during the program. The application is attached, and applications are also available in the guidance office. Applications can be mailed to Katie Kerr, Mercy Hospital, 144 State St Portland ME 04101. Community Service Opportunity Hey YHS! This Friday, 3/24, Jared Conant, a Yarmouth seventh grader, is hosting an activity night at HMS to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. Jared has Muscular Dystrophy and always volunteers in the Yarmouth community. To create a successful activity night, Jared and his dad, Barry Conant, are asking for high school volunteers.
