SUPPORT YEF Through Social Media The Yarmouth Education Foundation is a non-profit organization made up of community volunteers. YEF has raised more than $200,000 for innovative school projects that fall outside the normal school budget. Your educators work hard to come up with ideas and then they write grant proposals that are submitted to the YEF for approval. Recent YHS grants paid for by the YEF include Google Expeditions, 3D printers, Robotics Club support, Telling Room writing workshops, DNA barcoding equipment, electric car building... just to name a few! The YEF would love your support on social media! Follow along to check out cool pictures and read about grants headed your way... Friday, March 10 - the documentary called After Spring will be shown in the YPAC Hey YHS! This Friday, March 10 at 7:30 pm, the YHS Global Action Coalition will be showing a feature documentary in the YPAC called After Spring. With the Syrian conflict now in its sixth year, millions of people continue to be displaced. After Spring is the story of what happens next. It follows two refugee families in transition and the aid workers who are committed to keeping the camp running. Viewers will experience what it is like to live in Zaatari, the world's largest camp for Syrian refugees. Produced by Jon Stewart, this film made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film is free and open to the public (recommended viewing age: high school and adults). After the film, you are welcome to write a note of hope to those in the camp; these will be sent by the filmmakers to residents in the camp on our behalf. We will also have baked goods for sale to raise money to support programs for kids in the camp. In addition, there will also be a table outside the cafeteria tomorrow during both lunches where you can draw a picture of something you're hopeful for and/or write a note of hope to kids in the refugee camp. We hope to see you there! -GAC
