Community service opportunity: Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to ring bells outside of business locations throughout the holiday season. Auditions for the SPRING PLAY* will be December 15th in the YPAC at 7:00. If yo If you are planning to audition, please sign up on the sign up sheet on the sheet on the Playmaker Bulletin Board (at the bottom of the ramp, outside room 409). We would like to know how many people are interested and how many people will be coming to the audition. Backs Stage sign up will be after vacation. If you have any questions about the commitment time or rehearsal schedule, please contact Mrs. Puelle and she will be happy to help. *We have opted not to do a ONE ACT PLAY this year. We will be doing a full-length, non-musical, comedy play.


Friday - period 3 - All grade 9 students will report directly to YPAC - period 3 Friday - all 9th graders will participate in the Hour of Code during Period 3. Students should report to the YPAC at the beginning of Period 3 (no need to go to classes) with their computers and headphones. Backpacks can be put outside of the YPAC. Thank you!


Semi-formal - Friday, December 16th This year's Sophomore Class Council is super excited to announce that the Semi-formal dance theme for 2016 will be Atlantis! $10 a ticket It will be held on Friday, December 16th and, as always, the dress code will be semi formal (obviously). It's going to be in the cafeteria from 7-10.


The Global Action Club is holding a clothing drive The Global Action Club will be holding a clothing drive from now until December 15. A donation bin will be located in the main office. Please consider donating clothing in good condition. Summer-weight clothing (t-shirts, shorts, pants, sandals) will be donated to an organization helping those affected by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. Winter clothing (hats, boots, coats, sweaters, pants) will be donated to Catholic Charities, which currently is resettling Syrian refugee families in the greater Portland area. School Year Abroad programs School Year Abroad will be visiting YHS on Tuesday, December 13 at 9am (2B) in the Guidance Office. This is a program offering exchange in Italy, France, Spain, and China. Semi formal tickets on sale today! Hey everyone! Semi is coming up!! It's going to be held on Friday, December 16... next Friday! We will be selling tickets both lunches starting this Friday and all of next week. They will cost $10! Hope to see you all there!!


Unified Basketball sign up YHS Students, The Unified Basketball Season is just around the corner! An informational meeting for all student-athletes and partners will take place on Monday, December 19th 6:00 p.m. in the Flex room. If you are interested in playing please plan to attend. Additionally, it will be important to update your selection on Powerschool to "Unified Basketball" prior to the meeting. The season begins January 12th and runs through March 15th. We plan for 3 days of basketball which works out to 2 practices 3:00-4:00 a week and one game. Please utilize the link below to sign up for the team so we know in advance of the meeting how many students are interested. I have attached the MPA bulletin to this e-mail so that you can familiarize yourself with the rules. Unified basketball is a great sport and I highly recommend your participation!
