Seniors - On-The-Spot Admission Days Hello Seniors, We have three schools who are hosting on-the-spot admission days here at YHS in the coming weeks. At these appointments, you will meet one-on-one with a representative who will review your application with you and let you know if you are admissible to their school. This is an excellent opportunity to get an early admission decision as well as feedback on your application. Here are the schools that are visiting. Please let me know by Monday, November 20th at the latest if you would like to participate. If you have already signed up for the UMO day, or spoken with me about UNE, you do not need to email me again. Community Service opportunity Like Graphic design? Have experience or want to learn how to layout a newsletter? Need Volunteer Hours? Yarmouth's Aging in Place program has something for you! The AIP Communication's team is looking for a student willing to donate 5 -10 hours every three months laying out their quarterly newsletter. Graphic design or layout experience helpful but not necessary. Being creative, computer savvy and able to stick to deadlines a must! Contact Leigh Kirchner at leighmk2050@gmail.com.

November Guidance News Hello Everyone! Please see below for important information and updates from the Guidance Office for the month of November. Please don't hesitate with any questions. Thank you! ------------------------------------------------------- All Students Freeport High School will host their annual Summer, Semester, and Gap Year fair on Tuesday, November 14th from 6:00-7:30pm. Seniors A reminder that transcript release forms are due at least two weeks before your first application deadline. Forms are attached - if you have already submitted a common application form, you do not need to submit additional forms as you add schools to your list. Online and paper applications do require new forms for new schools. Please remember that if you do not submit a form for a non-Common Application school, we do not know you are applying! All first quarter grades will be sent to colleges starting November 14th. It's time to start researching and applying for scholarships! Check this document often as it will be updated regularly through June! Sophomores Applications for Maine Youth Leadership Seminar and HOBY Seminar will be handed out in advisory this week. Students who are interested in being selected to represent Yarmouth High School should turn their applications into the guidance office by Tuesday, November 21. Freshmen Freshman group meetings with guidance counselors will begin later this month. These meetings are to introduce freshmen to the guidance office and Student Support Team, to check in about the transition from 8th grade to high school, and to discuss four-year academic plans and getting involved here at YHS.
