Community Service opportunity - 10/28 The Annual Halloween Party at the Y is coming up on 10/28 from 6-8pm and we are in need of volunteers for a variety of activities. The activities that we need volunteer help with are below: Haunted Trail (14) Refreshment Server (4) Popcorn makers (2) Fortune Tellers (2) Crafts (6) Mad Science lab (2) Games (6) Face painting (3) Post-Party clean up (as many as possible J) Volunteers should arrive by 5:30pm to get set up and get any necessary directions. If students are interested in helping or have any questions, they should contact Nykole Cadigan, Youth Development Coordinator at ncadigan@ymcaofsouthernmaine.org

Creative Writing Day is on!! October 28th Creative Writing Day is ON for this fall! This year it will take place on Friday, October 28 from 8:45-2:45. If you've enjoyed the day in the past, hope you'll be able to make it again! If you've never done it, it's like a voluntary in-school field trip. Six local writers will be here to lead workshops in specific writing genres. If you love writing, creativity, and sharing your ideas and work with others, consider signing up! It's a once a year opportunity...no stress, no judgement, just fun, creative, energetic writing and being supportive to your fellow writers and artists. Coastal Studies for Girls On Sunday, October 23 from 12-3 Coastal Studies for Girls will be hosting an open house. Staff and semester school alums will be present to lead tours through the school, share their personal Coastal Studies for Girls experience, and answer questions about student life, academics, applying, and financial aid. They are located at 308 Wolfe's Neck Rd, Freeport, ME. Coastal Studies for Girls is currently accepting applications from 10th grade students for the few remaining openings in our Spring 2017 semester and from 9th grade students interested in applying for next year's semesters Please contact them directly with any questions!
