April in Guidance

posted Apr 6, 2017, 12:05 PM by YHS Guidance

All Students

This Wednesday the guidance office hosted our annual College Information Night. Many thanks to our presenters, Scott Steinberg from UNE, Nik Ray from UMaine, and Margot Haines from Bowdoin College for sharing their knowledge, wisdom, and advice at our College Information Night.  A copy of the presentation is found here.

The list of local and regional opportunities continues to be updated as we head into the warmer months. Please be sure to check it frequently for upcoming events, camps, and more.

AP Testing is coming! Tests run from Monday, May 1 - Friday, May 12.  Click here for the testing schedule. (Please note, there is no fee for YHS students taking the AP Exam)

Many thanks to all of you who have been keeping us updated on admission decisions. Many decisions have been released in the past week - please let us know here in guidance as you hear from your schools.  We will be sending a "Future Plans" form for you to complete after May 1st

Scholarship deadlines are fast approaching. Click here for the list of local, regional, and national scholarships in our database. Any scholarship that requires a transcript also requires a signed release form, which is  available in the guidance office.

Thank you to all juniors for a smooth and successful SAT administration this week! All juniors will also take the mandatory state science augmentation test on Wednesday, April 12. This is also not a late start day for juniors.

Sophomore guidance meetings will continue through the month of April with our guidance intern, Annie King.

That's all for April! Please do not hesitate with questions. Thank you!
