SENIOR PARENTS - 11/21/2014

Dear Senior Parents,

Yesterday, we had a brief assembly with all seniors to let them know about an opportunity available to them.  I want to make sure you are well informed as well.

For the second year, we are encouraging seniors to think about doing a Senior Independent Project.  Students can choose a topic that they are interested in learning, find an expert outside mentor to help them, and complete a project for credit in that subject.  Last year, some of the topics studied included climate change, yoga, lobstering, musical composition, nutrition, and writing.

We have created a website with more information that you can find at this link.  Last year, we offered this to seniors during second semester, but decided that this year, it will take place between now and mid-March.  Students who complete the project will earn .5 elective credits and it will be noted on their high school transcript as Sr. Independent Project-[topic of project].  A grade of "P" will be noted for the completed project.

If you have any questions, please feel free to be in touch.

Sincerely,

Ted Hall, Principal
