NEASC Survey

Dear YHS Parents,

Yarmouth High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).  As part of our ongoing accreditation, we complete an extensive self-study followed by a three-day intensive visit by a group of colleagues from other schools in New England.  The visiting team will come in the fall of 2015.

We have recently begun our self-study by forming committees for each of the seven standards for accreditation.  The self-study involves a great deal of data collection, including an analysis of surveys conducted by Endicott College for NEASC that are  sent to faculty, students, and parents.  On Wednesday, both the faculty and the students completed this survey during our late start and extended advisor time.  We will have close to 100% of the students and faculty complete this survey which is very helpful.

The final survey is of our parents.  It is VERY important that we have as many parents as possible complete this brief survey. I have posted the link at the bottom of this email.  I have a few points about the survey and who should complete it:
  • This is a relatively short survey.  It should take you about 10 minutes or less to complete it.
  • In homes with two parents, it would be great if each parent completed the survey independently.  Often, parents may have had different experiences and therefore have different opinions about the effectiveness of the school.
  • Some of our parents are also faculty members.  We encourage faculty members to complete the parent survey based on their experience as parents in the school.
  • If you are the parent of a ninth grader or a recently transferred student, you may not feel you have enough information to be able to answer adequately.  I encourage you to complete the survey based on your experiences so far.
  • The survey contains some educational language (jargon) that may not be familiar to you.  Please answer the questions to the best of your ability.  The survey requires that you answer every question.

This survey will be open until the close of school on November 26th.

When you go to the survey, you will need to put in this code to start the survey:

P2016494

Here is the link to the survey:

Below my signature, you will see a  letter from Endicott College and NEASC with a little more information about the survey.

Thanks in advance for your willingness to complete the survey.
